About / Mission
The first and largest organization uniting LGBTQ+ people with parents and allies, founded in 1973 to support families, educate communities, and advocate for LGBTQ+ equality.
Volunteer Needs
Volunteers often start as parents or allies seeking to support one another – they lead local PFLAG support group meetings, speak publicly at schools and businesses to share personal stories and promote acceptance, and advocate for policies like safe schools and marriage equality at the local and national level.
